Decorations

Darker colored substrates and background help colors stand out. A few river rocks and some pieces of driftwood.

Do not clutter the tank. A few decorations here and there are sufficient.

Guppies fall into the omnivore category, but they usually leave aquarium plants alone, so live plants will be a nice addition to your tank.

Tank mates

The following fish are of similar size and nature, and will happily fit in with guppies.

• Platys

• Mollies

• Tetras

• Danios

• Corydoras catfish

• Snails

• Shrimp.

Swordtails can also be mixed with your guppies but watch for fin nipping.
Avoid any fish that may nip the beautiful fins of your guppies.
