Decorations
Darker colored substrates and background help colors stand out. A few river rocks and some pieces of driftwood.
Do not clutter the tank. A few decorations here and there are sufficient.
Swordtails fall into the omnivore category, but they usually leave aquarium plants alone, so live plants will be a nice addition to your tank.
Feeding
Swordtails are omnivores. Feed your fish a high-quality flake food that can be consumed in 3 minutes.
If possible feed daphnia or brine shrimp once a week.
They also enjoy eating slime so a treat of a bit of slime is a good idea. Just remember to take it out after a day or two so that it does not take over your tank.
